Paul Walker’s brother Cody Walker has said he does not want to be involved in plans to bring back the late actor’s Brian O’Conner character using artificial intelligence in the final Fast & Furious film.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Cody said there was no AI technology involved when Paul’s character was completed in the series following the actor’s death. However, he noted that years of unused footage from the franchise could potentially be used to recreate or bring back the character.
Cody also said he is not interested in returning as Paul’s stunt double for the upcoming film, “Fast Forever,” which is scheduled for release in cinemas on March 17, 2028.
Cody Walker Prefers Brian O’Conner’s Existing Ending
Cody said he is satisfied with the way Brian O’Conner was written out of the franchise. Rather than killing the character off, the series showed Brian stepping away to raise his children, which Cody described as a beautiful ending.
He said that if Paul’s daughter, Meadow Walker, wants to see her father’s character return, the decision should be based on her wishes and would not necessarily require him or his brother Caleb to participate.
Paul Walker died in a car crash in 2013 while Furious 7 was in production. Following his death, his brothers Cody and Caleb helped complete some scenes in his place, while visual effects were used to finish the film and provide Brian with a farewell.
Vin Diesel Wanted Dom and Brian Reunited
Cody’s current position differs from that of Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel.
Diesel said in 2025 that one of his three conditions for the franchise’s final installment was to reunite his character, Dominic Toretto, with Brian O’Conner.
Cody said he does not know whether Paul will ultimately appear in the final movie. He added that he has spoken with Diesel, who is taking the matter seriously and wants to make the final installment the best possible film.
Fast Forever is being described as the final movie in the long-running Fast & Furious franchise and is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on March 17, 2028.
