ISLAMABAD – Former Speaker of the National Assembly and senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser has strongly condemned the Prime Minister’s recent remarks on Palestine. He stated that Palestinian sentiments were ignored and demanded a formal apology. Addressing the National Assembly session, Qaiser said no foreign policy decision would be acceptable unless it reflected the will of the Palestinian people.

Moreover, he emphasized that the Haramain Sharifain are central to the faith of Pakistanis. He warned that any threat to their sanctity would unite the nation in defence. Qaiser also criticized the government for bypassing parliamentary consultation on sensitive national matters, particularly those involving Palestine and Israel.

The PTI leader questioned Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s clarification regarding Shama Junejo. He noted that her role as the Prime Minister’s speechwriter placed direct responsibility on the PM for her statements. He added that the explanation had only intensified public concern.

Referring to the controversial “Trump peace deal,” Qaiser condemned the Prime Minister’s tweet acknowledging the agreement. He called it a “display of sycophancy,” especially when no Muslim leader had endorsed the deal. Palestinians themselves had already rejected it. “Over 60,000 innocent Palestinians have been martyred in a brutal campaign of genocide,” he said. Qaiser reiterated that Pakistan’s 250 million citizens would never accept recognition of Israel.

He stressed that any peace accord must include recognition of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital. Furthermore, he demanded immediate diplomatic efforts for the release of Pakistani citizens detained aboard the Sumud Flotilla, which the Israeli forces intercepted while it attempted to deliver aid to Gaza.

Highlighting PTI founder Imran Khan’s stance, Qaiser said Khan had consistently defended the Haramain Sharifain. He also welcomed the Pakistan-Saudi defence agreement. According to him, Palestinians today wish Imran Khan were Pakistan’s Prime Minister, citing his fearless advocacy for the Muslim Ummah at the United Nations.

Turning to domestic issues, Qaiser expressed alarm over Pakistan’s deteriorating economy. He noted that 26 major international companies had exited the country. He also voiced concern over the worsening situation in Azad Kashmir and the former FATA region, calling it deeply troubling.

In conclusion, Asad Qaiser demanded immediate fresh elections. He argued that the current government had failed to uphold national interests and ignored Palestinian sentiments at a critical moment. He stressed that only legitimate, competent leadership could restore public trust and navigate the country through its mounting challenges.
