MARDAN :Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s ( JUI-F) central leader, former Federal Minister of Communications Maulana Asad Mahmood, stated that Pakistan’s political dwarfs are ruling over the poor masses of Pakistan with the backing of the military and establishment. Some were imposed on the nation by General Bajwa, while the current government was brought to power by the establishment with Western approval. PTI promoted Qadianism, and the current government decided to prioritize the conditions of the World Bank and IMF. This government has taken record loans, sinking the country and making the Pakistani nation a slave to the World Bank and IMF. JUI’s current political policy is based on religious, constitutional, and democratic principles in national politics. These views were expressed by him while addressing the Mufti Mahmood Conference in honor of JUI leader Akbar Khan in the Pir Sadu area of Takht Bhai. On this occasion, JUI provincial leader Senator Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, JUI Balochistan leader Salahuddin Ayubi, Madina Munawara leader Ukasha bin Saeed, Takht Bhai chairman Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Takht Bhai General Secretary Muhammad Shafiq Khan, Mardan District General Secretary Maulana Amanat Shah, Maulana Muhammad Qasim Bijli Ghar, and JUI Supreme Council member Alhaj Dost Muhammad Darwaish also addressed. They said JUI supports the democratic system and prioritizes protecting the Islamic provisions of the Pakistani Constitution.
The party is active in maintaining parliamentary democracy and opposing any undemocratic measures. Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and JUI opposed the Madrassah Bill, considering it an attack on the autonomy of religious schools and condemning any unnecessary government control over curriculum, financial matters, and administrative affairs. The JUI position is that madrassas have always been centers of peace and Islamic education and linking them to any political or security concerns is incorrect. Bringing madrassas under government supervision will affect their independence and impose restrictions on religious education. Eventually, the government had to bow before Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s stance and apologize, retracting the bill. Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman warned the government regarding madrassa reforms, emphasizing consultation with religious scholars and leadership before making decisions about the future of religious schools. If the government tries to impose black laws like the Madrassah Bill, JUI will resist along with other religious parties and launch a protest movement. JUI emphasizes that the establishment should not interfere in national politics and that all decisions should be made by the representatives of the people.
The party has repeatedly called for free elections and an end to political engineering. The party voices against inflation, unemployment, and economic instability. JUI-F criticizes the government’s economic policies and proposes reforms based on Islamic economic principles to provide relief to the public. JUI is active in promoting Islamic values, protecting religious schools, and advancing religious education in the country. The party supports women’s rights, education, and other social issues in line with Islamic principles. The party opposes any compromise on Pakistan’s sovereignty. JUI-F always emphasizes the unity of the Islamic world and Pakistan’s effective role in issues concerning Afghanistan, Palestine, and other Muslim countries. JUI-F had an active role in the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), but in the current political scenario, the party has started adopting an independent strategy to strengthen its position. This policy changes according to the times and circumstances, but the basic principles remain the same on which the party advances its politics. They further said that JUI is facing global forces and Qadianis and is struggling for the supremacy of Islam and the survival of democracy in the country.
