Consul General of Japan His Excellency Mr. Hattori Masaru, and Economic Advisor to Pakistan Mr. Maksuda Kazunori inaugurated the academy’s opening ceremony organised by Pakistan Lacrosse Federation.
Federation establishes first academy in Karachi.Peshawar (Sports Reporter) Consul General of Japan Mr. Hattori Masaru, and Economic Advisor to Pakistan Mr. Maksuda Kazunori inaugurated the Lacrosse Academy at The IVY School, Gulmohar Campus, Karachi. The academy has been established in collaboration with Pakistan Lacrosse Federation (PLF) and Sindh Lacrosse Association, with the aim of promoting sports among the youth and strengthening international brotherhood.
The inauguration ceremony was organized by Miss Munira Nadeem, and Mr. Muhammad Halar Khan, Heading Operations and Sports Department. The three-hour lacrosse clinic was conducted by Engineer Taifur Zarin, Secretary PLF, Mr. Sajid Imrani, Secretary Sindh Lacrosse Association, and Coaches Basit and Abid. The workshop taught 40 boys and girls aged 8 to 14 the basic skills of lacrosse, including catching, throwing, shooting, cradling, ground balls, and tackling. The Consul General, Mr. Hattori Masaru, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, saying that these activities will further strengthen the ties between Pakistan and Japan. He said, “These activities will further strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and Japan. Japan has always been a brother and friend of Pakistan, and we will continue to support Pakistan’s development at all levels.”
The academy is a significant step towards promoting lacrosse and nurturing young talent in Pakistan and Karachi in particular. The clinic was organized to prepare players for the Asia Pacific Youth Lacrosse Championship to be held in South Korea in August 2025.
