Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, has highlighted the urgency of climate action and the importance of youth leadership, saying Pakistan remains one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change despite contributing less than one percent to global greenhouse gas emissions.
He was addressing an event organised by Earth Warriorz in collaboration with the Pakistan Youth Forum at the Pakistan Association Dubai. The programme included a screening of the documentary The Last Village and aimed to engage Pakistani youth and members of the diaspora in discussions on climate change and community resilience.

The consul general praised the efforts of Emaan Danish and her team for raising awareness on climate issues and commended the Pakistan Youth Forum for mobilising young people around climate advocacy.
He outlined Pakistan’s commitments under its updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0), which include measures for emissions reduction, expansion of renewable energy, and large-scale afforestation. He said these initiatives demonstrate Pakistan’s resolve to address climate challenges while pursuing sustainable development.
Mr. Hussain stressed the need for greater global cooperation, including increased climate finance and access to modern technology, urging developed nations to support developing countries in building climate resilience and adapting to climate-related impacts.
Emphasising the role of young people, he said meaningful climate action requires collective efforts across borders and generations. Referring to The Last Village, he noted that the documentary powerfully depicts the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities in Swat and highlights that climate change is not only an environmental concern but also a humanitarian and socio-economic issue.
The event was held in Dubai on February 2, 2026, and was attended by members of the Pakistani community, youth leaders, and civil society representatives.
