LONDON, October 13, 2026: Pakistani-origin British surgeon Dr Amir Raza has made a significant breakthrough in the United Kingdom by advancing single-port robotic gynaecological surgery.
The robotic surgery programme led by Dr Raza has successfully completed more than 400 operations, highlighting the growing role of advanced surgical technology in modern healthcare.
Unlike conventional multi-port robotic surgery, which generally requires several small incisions in the abdomen, the single-port technique uses a single access point to introduce the camera and robotic instruments into the body.
The technique enables surgeons to perform complex procedures through a single incision, potentially reducing the number of surgical entry points required.
Dr Amir Raza is a graduate of Nishtar Medical College, Multan. His work in single-port robotic surgery represents a notable development in the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques in the UK.
The programme’s experience of more than 400 operations demonstrates its growing application in robotic gynaecological procedures. The development also highlights the contribution of Pakistani-origin medical professionals to specialised healthcare services in the United Kingdom.
