Pakistani skin cancer surgeon Dr Dua Khan has developed an advanced AI chatbot to provide initial guidance on skin diseases and skin cancer.
According to Dr Khan, the chatbot has been designed with a special focus on skin cancer and common skin-related issues to help raise public awareness.
She said a lack of awareness about skin diseases can sometimes cause people to ignore a small pimple, mark or wound that may later turn into a serious medical concern. Timely identification and medical advice are therefore important.
Dr Khan said the AI chatbot will help users understand symptoms related to skin problems and provide them with preliminary guidance.
According to her, the chatbot took nearly three months to develop.
Health experts say such digital health tools can support public awareness, but a qualified doctor or dermatologist should be consulted for proper diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases or suspected skin cancer.
Dr Khan said the purpose of the chatbot is to encourage people to seek timely awareness and avoid ignoring suspicious signs appearing on the skin.
