Pakistani art and culture festival opens at Dubai International Art Centre

Dubai, February 7, 2026:
The Pakistani Art and Culture Festival was inaugurated at the Dubai International Art Centre, showcasing Pakistan’s artistic heritage and contemporary creative expressions to an international audience.

The opening ceremony was led by Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, along with Muhammad Saleh, Press Counsellor at the Consulate General of Pakistan.

Addressing the gathering, the consul general congratulated the organisers for presenting Pakistan’s art and culture on a global platform. He described Dubai as a centre of multicultural engagement, noting that the United Arab Emirates provides a unique environment where cultures from around the world interact and are celebrated.

Highlighting Pakistan’s rich artistic traditions, he said art plays an important role in soft diplomacy by projecting a positive image of the country and strengthening people-to-people connections. He reaffirmed the consulate’s support for cultural initiatives aimed at promoting mutual understanding and enhancing cultural ties between Pakistan, the UAE, and the wider international community.

Organisers and cultural showcase

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, artist Soobika Fawad thanked the consul general and the consulate for their encouragement and support. The festival has been organised by Pakistani artists Soobika Fawad, Afsheen Beig, Anum Ali, and Alia Amin, with the aim of promoting Pakistani art and culture beyond national borders.

The curated exhibition blends traditional influences with contemporary artistic expressions rooted in Pakistani identity, craftsmanship, and cultural narratives.

Alongside the art displays, the festival also features curated cultural vendors offering traditional Pakistani clothing, jewellery, and handcrafted items, including truck art, pottery, and other artisanal creations.
