Pakistan has won an ODI series on Australian soil after 22 years by defeating Australia in the third and decisive match. In the third and final match of the 3-match ODI series held in Perth, the Green Shirts beat the Kangaroos by 8 wickets, securing the series 2-1.
In the match played in Perth, Australia batted first and were bowled out for 140 runs in 32 overs. In response, Pakistan chased down the target in 26.5 overs with 2 wickets down. Saim Ayub scored 42 runs and Abdullah Shafique made 37 runs, both contributing significantly. Captain Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 30, while Babar Azam also stayed not out with 28 runs.
Earlier, for Australia, Sean Abbott was the top scorer with 30 runs. Jack Fraser-McGurk got out after making just 7 runs, and Matthew Short scored 22. Captain Josh Inglis managed only 7 runs, Aaron Hardie scored 12, and Cooper Connolly retired hurt on 7 runs. Glenn Maxwell fell to Haris Rauf for the third consecutive match without scoring, and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis made only 8 runs. Adam Zampa added 13 runs to the total.
From Pakistan’s side, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi each took 3 wickets, while Haris Rauf claimed 2 wickets. Haris Rauf was awarded Player of the Match and Player of the Series.

He emphasized that the 8-wicket victory was a result of great teamwork, with Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf’s excellent bowling restricting Australia to a low score, while Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique batted responsibly to ensure the win.
He also praised Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan for their outstanding batting performance. He added that he firmly believes success comes with passion, hard work, and determination.
