Pakistan’s young mixed martial arts fighters delivered an impressive performance at the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship, winning two gold medals and bringing international recognition to the country.
The championship, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, featured more than 200 athletes from 16 countries, with Pakistan’s rising fighters producing standout performances in the youth divisions.
According to the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation, Muhammad Jawad Ahmed and Muhammad Saqib claimed gold medals after winning their respective finals.
Jawad Ahmed Defeats Kazakh Opponent
Muhammad Jawad Ahmed captured the Under-16, 54kg title after defeating Kazakhstan’s Zharilkassinov Meirman in a closely contested final.
The victory earned Pakistan its first gold medal of the championship and highlighted the country’s growing presence in youth mixed martial arts.
Muhammad Saqib Crowned Asian Champion
Pakistan secured its second gold medal when Muhammad Saqib defeated Thailand’s Changpan Watcharat in the Under-18, 56kg final.
His victory crowned him the Asian champion in his weight category and completed a memorable campaign for the Pakistani contingent.
The performances of both fighters have been hailed as a significant achievement for Pakistan’s developing MMA scene, reflecting the progress of the country’s young athletes on the international stage.
Officials and supporters congratulated the medal winners, expressing hope that the success would encourage greater investment in mixed martial arts and inspire more young athletes to represent Pakistan in future international competitions.
