The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms and gusty conditions across several parts of the country during the next 24 hours, with warnings of possible hail and lightning in some areas.
According to the weather department, rain is expected tonight in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, the Potohar region, Islamabad and upper Punjab. Hail is also possible at isolated locations, while lightning could pose a risk in several areas.
On Wednesday, rain is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Potohar, Islamabad and northeastern Punjab.
Most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain hot and dry, while Karachi may experience partly cloudy conditions.
In Punjab, rain accompanied by strong winds, dust storms and thunderstorms is forecast in areas including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Hafizabad.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bajaur, Swabi and Nowshera. Some locations may experience heavy rain and hail.
The weather department has warned that strong winds, thunderstorms and hail could damage mud houses, walls, electricity poles, billboards, vehicles and solar panels. Residents have been advised to take precautions, particularly during periods of severe weather.
During the previous 24 hours, Peshawar City recorded the highest rainfall at 38 millimetres, followed by Attock with 31mm, Cherat with 17mm, and Malam Jabba and Takht Bhai with 10mm each.
The maximum temperature recorded in Islamabad was 28°C, while Lahore reached 37°C and Faisalabad and Multan recorded 36°C.
Turbat was the hottest location in the country, with a maximum temperature of 44°C.
