The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the official schedule for the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026, with arch-rivals Pakistan and India set to face each other on September 5 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The eight-team T20 tournament will run from August 28 to September 13, with all matches being played under floodlights at a single venue in Dubai. The event will bring together the top women’s teams from across Asia, with the final scheduled for September 13.
Pakistan placed in Group A
According to the tournament draw released by the Asian Cricket Council, Group A features India, Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong China.
Group B includes defending champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia.
The tournament will begin on August 28 with Thailand taking on Hong Kong China in the opening match.
Pakistan’s group-stage fixtures
Pakistan will open its campaign against Thailand on September 1 before taking on India in the highly anticipated group-stage fixture on September 5.
The national side will conclude its group-stage matches against Hong Kong China on September 7.
Knockout stage schedule
Following the completion of the group stage, the first semi-final will be played on September 10, featuring the Group A winners against the Group B runners-up.
The second semi-final is scheduled for September 11, with the Group B table-toppers facing the second-placed team from Group A.
The tournament champion will be decided in the final on September 13 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan squad selection underway
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s national selection committee has begun consultations for the Women’s Asia Cup squad. According to sources, the names of players shortlisted for the national training camp are expected to be announced in the coming days.
The Pakistan women’s team recently returned home after completing its bilateral series against Sri Lanka.
