Pakistan Tobacco Company recognised as leading exporter by government

Islamabad: Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PTC) has been recognised by the Government of Pakistan as one of the country’s leading exporters, acknowledging the company’s contribution to national economic growth and export performance.

The recognition highlights PTC’s role as one of Pakistan’s long-established multinational enterprises and its adherence to governance, compliance and fiscal discipline. According to company data, PTC has contributed more than Rs1 trillion to the national exchequer over the past five years, reinforcing its position as a significant contributor to public revenue.

PTC began its export operations in 2018 and has since expanded its international footprint. Over the past eight years, the company has recorded exports exceeding $200 million, supplying tobacco and nicotine products to multiple markets across Europe, South America, East Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Officials said these exports reflect the company’s manufacturing standards, technological capacity and compliance with international quality requirements.

In addition to its commercial operations, PTC has continued to invest in sustainability-focused initiatives. The company said its approach includes responsible manufacturing practices, community development programmes and environmentally conscious strategies aimed at long-term social and economic impact.

Government officials said the recognition of PTC as a leading exporter reflects the company’s consistency in meeting regulatory standards, maintaining export growth and contributing to Pakistan’s broader economic objectives.
