RAWALPINDI, November 6, 2026: Pakistan and Tajikistan have concluded their joint counterterrorism military exercise, Dosti-III, at the Special Operations School in Cherat, reinforcing bilateral defence cooperation and efforts to enhance operational capabilities against security threats.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, the exercise marked the third edition of the bilateral counterterrorism training programme involving personnel from the Pakistan Army and Tajikistan Army.

The exercise commenced on October 26 and concluded on November 6, providing participating troops with an opportunity to exchange operational experiences and improve their counterterrorism skills through coordinated training activities.

ISPR said the exercise focused on sharing practical counterterrorism experiences, refining operational drills and procedures, and strengthening combat skills through mutual learning.

The training programme also facilitated the exchange of best practices between the two armies, allowing participating personnel to benefit from each other’s operational knowledge and experience.

The joint exercise formed part of the longstanding military cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan, with both countries maintaining engagement in defence training and professional exchanges.

According to ISPR, Dosti-III reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan and Tajikistan to further strengthen bilateral defence relations and promote continued military cooperation.

The successful conclusion of the exercise underscored the importance both countries attach to joint training and professional collaboration in addressing counterterrorism challenges.
