PSX Today, July 17, 2026: KSE-100 Falls 2,382 Points After Previous Day’s Rally

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange ended Friday’s session sharply lower, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index losing 2,382 points as selling pressure erased much of the previous day’s gains.

The KSE-100 Index closed at 175,802 points, down about 1.34% from Thursday’s closing level.

The decline came a day after the benchmark had staged a strong recovery, jumping 2,837 points to close at 178,123.18 on July 16, supported by broad-based buying.

Friday’s losses pushed the index back below the 178,000 mark reclaimed during the previous session.

The benchmark moved within a range of 2,903 points during the trading day, reflecting heightened volatility as investors shifted from aggressive buying to profit-taking and cautious trading.

Around 620 million shares changed hands across the market, with the total value of traded shares reaching Rs29.88 billion.

Overall market capitalisation fell by Rs249 billion to Rs19.709 trillion, reflecting the broader decline in share prices.

The latest session marked a sharp reversal from Thursday’s bullish trend, when the KSE-100 had touched an intraday high of 178,367.24 before closing above 178,000.
