MARDAN: Provincial Minister for Revenue and Estate Tariq Mahmood Aryani and Mardan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) Group Leader Zahir Shah inaugurated the two-day Pakistan Solar Expo 2026 in Mardan on Friday, bringing together traders, industrialists, solar companies, investors and members of the public.
The third edition of the expo, organised by the Mardan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, is aimed at promoting solar technology, alternative energy solutions and investment opportunities as businesses and households face rising electricity costs and growing energy requirements.
Business community explores solar solutions
The expo attracted representatives from the business and industrial sectors, traders, solar companies and various local markets. MCCI President Awais Khan, former MPA Amanat Shah Haqqani, WSSM Chairman Engineer Adil Nawaz, Vice President Haji Waheed Gul and other chamber and market representatives also attended the opening ceremony.
Addressing participants, Minister Tariq Mahmood Aryani said modern energy technology had become increasingly important for businesses and industries. He said solar power could provide an alternative source of electricity while helping businesses manage energy costs.
Aryani also described the Mardan Chamber as an important link between the government and business community, saying exhibitions that bring investors, industrialists and consumers together could create opportunities for commercial activity and employment.
Government considers solarisation support
The provincial minister said the government would work with relevant institutions to address challenges facing businesses and encourage investment in alternative energy.
He also assured MCCI representatives that the provincial government would approach the management of the Bank of Khyber regarding solarisation facilities for chamber members, traders, industrialists and domestic consumers in Mardan.
According to Aryani, the proposed arrangements could include easier instalment plans and lower profit margins, with the aim of making solar systems accessible to more consumers.
Expo highlights solar technology and investment
Zahir Shah, Group Leader of MCCI and Provincial General Secretary of Markaz-e-Tanzeem Tajiran Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said the expo was organised to introduce traders and industrialists to modern solar technologies, alternative energy sources and investment opportunities.
He said visitors could explore solar products, updated technologies and installation solutions, including systems available through instalment arrangements.
Zahir Shah said the Mardan Chamber would continue working to support the business community, promote industrial development, encourage energy conservation and attract investment.
The Pakistan Solar Expo 2026 will continue for two days, providing businesses and members of the public with an opportunity to explore solar products, technologies and alternative energy solutions.
