ISLAMABAD, September 29, 2026: HBL Microfinance Bank (HBL MfB), 1LINK (Pvt.) Limited and Euronet Pakistan have signed a tripartite agreement to launch Pakistan’s first PayPak Credit Card, with HBL Microfinance Bank becoming the inaugural credit card partner of the domestic payment scheme.

The partnership brings together HBL Microfinance Bank’s microfinance network, 1LINK’s PayPak payment infrastructure and Euronet’s card-processing technology to introduce a locally powered credit card solution for microfinance customers.

Under the agreement, HBL Microfinance Bank will issue the PayPak Credit Cards and manage the customer proposition. 1LINK will provide the PayPak payment scheme, while Euronet will provide the card-processing technology platform and implementation support.

HBL Microfinance Bank plans to offer the PayPak Credit Card in four variants — Green, Standard, Pink and Edge — giving customers different options based on their financial and livelihood needs.

The bank also plans to introduce both conventional and Islamic PayPak Credit Card offerings as part of its broader strategy to expand access to credit solutions for microfinance customers across Pakistan.

Amir Khan, President and CEO of HBL Microfinance Bank, said the initiative would expand access to responsible and innovative financial solutions for customers who have traditionally been underserved by conventional banking products.

He said the partnership would combine HBL Microfinance Bank’s customer reach with PayPak’s domestic network and Euronet’s technology capabilities to provide greater choice, flexibility and convenience in accessing credit and making payments.

Najeeb Agrawalla, CEO of 1LINK, described the agreement as a significant development for Pakistan’s payments ecosystem, saying it reflected the capabilities of the country’s domestic payment infrastructure and efforts to develop secure and locally powered payment solutions.

Kashif Gaya, CEO of Euronet Pakistan, said the company would support the initiative as the card processor and technology partner, providing its payment-processing capabilities and implementation expertise.

The partnership marks a collaboration between Pakistan’s microfinance sector, domestic payment infrastructure and international payments technology to introduce a new credit card proposition aimed at expanding financial access across the country.
