Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to expand cooperation in energy, minerals sectors

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to deepen cooperation in the energy and minerals sectors following a meeting between Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki in Islamabad.

The discussion focused on matters of mutual interest, with both sides highlighting the importance of collaboration in areas that can drive investment, technology transfer, and joint ventures. The agreement comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

Malik congratulated the Saudi ambassador on the successful organization of the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, describing it as an important platform for advancing Pakistan–Saudi energy cooperation. He noted that the long-standing brotherly relations between the two nations are expected to yield tangible outcomes in the form of new projects and partnerships.

Ambassador Al-Malki welcomed Pakistan’s active participation in the forum and emphasized that continued engagement is vital to expanding cooperation in the minerals sector. He said the Kingdom values Pakistan’s role in regional development and looks forward to building on shared opportunities.
