Rawalpindi — Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have pledged to deepen their defence partnership following high-level meetings in Riyadh between senior military leaders of both countries.
Chiefs of General Staff Hold Strategic Meeting
Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, Chief of General Staff (CGS) Pakistan Army, met with General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al-Rowaily, Chief of General Staff of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces. The two sides discussed matters of mutual strategic interest, with a particular focus on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, enhancing interoperability, and advancing collaboration under the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA).
Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability
Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to further consolidating the long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing their shared role in promoting regional peace, stability, and self-reliance.
In addition to the bilateral meeting, a Special Session of the Pakistan–KSA Defence Industrial Forum was convened in Riyadh. The Pakistan tri-services delegation was led by Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, while the Saudi side was headed by H.E. Khalid Al Biyari, Assistant Minister of Defence for Executive Affairs.
Exploring Emerging Technologies Under Vision 2030
During the forum, officials reviewed the progress of ongoing strategic cooperation projects and explored new avenues for joint ventures in emerging technologies, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Pakistan’s Continued Support for Saudi Forces
Lieutenant General Raza reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for the capacity building of the Royal Saudi Defence Forces. Saudi leadership, in turn, acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, as well as its vital role in advancing regional peace and stability.

The meetings underscored the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting their shared resolve to expand defence collaboration and strengthen regional security frameworks.
