NAGOYA: Pakistan has advanced to the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles squash event at the 2026 Asian Games being held in Nagoya, Japan.
Pakistan’s Asim Khan and Mehwish Ali defeated their Japanese opponents 2–1 to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
In another mixed doubles pre-quarter-final, Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal and Sahrish Ali were eliminated after losing 0–2 to a Hong Kong pair.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s campaign in the table tennis event ended in the first round, with Taha Bilal and Muhammad Khan unable to progress further.
Pakistan will also face Iran in an important kabaddi match, while the country’s tennis team has departed for Japan to participate in the Asian Games.
The Pakistan tennis squad includes Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Muzammil Murtaza, Aqeel Khan and Ushna Suhail.
