NISHIN, JAPAN: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in the first semi-final of the Asian Games 2026 cricket competition to book a place in the final.
Bangladesh set Pakistan a target of 112 runs after scoring 111 for seven in their allotted 13 overs.
The match was shortened to 13 overs per side because of a wet outfield.
Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan won the toss and elected to field first in the semi-final played in Nishin, Japan.
Bangladesh’s innings was led by Towhid Hridoy, who top-scored with 42 runs.
Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by Sufiyan Muqeem, who claimed three wickets, while Arafat Minhas took two wickets.
Pakistan successfully chased down the target, with Hasan Nawaz scoring an unbeaten 27 and Abdul Samad remaining not out on 30.
The victory sends Pakistan into the Asian Games cricket final, where they will compete for the gold medal.
