ISLAMABAD, Jan 7 — Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, will serve as Chief Guest at the inaugural Pakistan Policy Dialogue, set for January 14 in Islamabad.
The gathering, convened by the Policy Research and Advisory Council (PRAC) in collaboration with the Corporate Pakistan Group (CPG), aims to foster constructive engagement between the public and private sectors at a time when Pakistan’s economy faces pressing challenges. The theme, “Correcting Course: Pakistan’s Economic Reset,” underscores the need for pragmatic reforms, growth-oriented policy choices, and institutional strengthening.
The Ministry of Commerce and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan are founding partners of the Dialogue, supported by Bank Alfalah, BankIslami, and Nutshell Group.
Keynote speakers and panelists
Federal ministers including Prof. Ahsan Iqbal (Planning, Development and Reforms), Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb (Finance and Revenue), Senator Dr. Musadik Malik (Climate Change and Environmental Coordination), and Muhammad Ali (Privatisation) will deliver keynote addresses.
The Dialogue will also feature contributions from senior policymakers, economists, and corporate leaders. Among the panelists are Dr. Samuel Rizk, Resident Representative of UNDP Pakistan; Khurram Schehzad, Adviser to the Finance Minister; Zarrar H. Khan, Federal Secretary IT & Telecom and Chairman PTCL; Dr. Ishrat Husain, economist and former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan; Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz; Maheen Rahman, CEO of InfraZamin Pakistan; Nadia Rahman, Member of the Planning Commission.

Focus areas
Sessions will explore priority themes such as export-led growth, bridging the digital divide, green growth pathways for a climate-vulnerable Pakistan, and advancing the national growth agenda. Discussions will be moderated by senior policymakers, corporate executives, and sector specialists.
The Pakistan Policy Dialogue is envisioned as a recurring national platform to promote evidence-based policy discourse, encourage private-sector participation in reform thinking, and translate dialogue into actionable outcomes for sustainable economic growth.
