Islamabad: Pakistan has received an official invitation from the President of the United States to join a proposed international Peace Board on Gaza, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) confirmed on Tuesday, marking a significant diplomatic development amid ongoing global efforts to end the war and stabilize the Palestinian territory.
According to the MoFA spokesperson, the invitation relates to discussions surrounding a proposed Gaza Peace Plan and related administrative and diplomatic mechanisms aimed at post-ceasefire governance, humanitarian relief, reconstruction, and long-term political arrangements in Gaza.

The initiative, reportedly under consideration by the United States administration led by Donald Trump, envisions the establishment of a Peace Board comprising selected international stakeholders to support internal stability, restoration of basic infrastructure, and coordinated humanitarian operations in Gaza following an end to hostilities.
Officials confirmed that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has been invited to participate in this proposed forum. Any decision regarding Pakistan’s participation, however, will be taken collectively by the country’s political leadership and Parliament, keeping in view national interests and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
The Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan will remain fully engaged with international efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in Gaza and achieving a just and lasting solution to the Palestine issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
Pakistan’s longstanding position on Palestine, the spokesperson emphasized, remains unchanged. Islamabad continues to support the establishment of a sovereign, contiguous, and independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Diplomatic observers view the invitation as a reflection of Pakistan’s consistent and principled stance on the Palestinian issue and its active engagement in international diplomacy. Pakistan has repeatedly called for an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilians, unhindered humanitarian access, and the reconstruction of war-affected areas in Gaza.
If included in the proposed Peace Board, analysts say Pakistan could play a constructive role in advocating for transparency, fairness, and the protection of Palestinian rights in relief and rehabilitation efforts, while contributing to broader international discussions on a sustainable political solution.
The Foreign Office stressed that Pakistan has never been a silent observer on the issue of Palestine and will continue to pursue a responsible and principled approach in line with its diplomatic commitments and humanitarian responsibilities.
