Islamabad: Deputy Chairman Police & Civil Administration Committee FPCCI, Zubair Taimoor, said that Pakistan made sincere, serious and effective efforts in the recent diplomatic situation, successfully securing a ceasefire between both sides and playing a key role in bringing them to the negotiating table after decades. He said that under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Pakistan’s diplomacy achieved significant success, while the mediation efforts of the Foreign Minister were acknowledged by both sides.
Zubair Taimoor said that important progress was made after 31 hours of continuous diplomatic engagement and multiple rounds of meetings, resulting in several positive developments. He stated that the conflict remains a complex and long-standing issue involving multiple differences as well as external spoilers, therefore immediate and complete results were never realistic.
He said Pakistan played an extraordinary role for global and regional peace. Zubair Taimoor further said that the recent statement by US Vice President JD Vance has created a new ray of hope, as it mentioned proposals made during the mediation process.
He said both sides now better understand each other’s positions and should move forward on that basis. He clarified that Pakistan would not comment on the substantive details of the negotiations because confidentiality remains a fundamental principle, and Pakistan fulfilled its role as a responsible mediator.
