Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) officials have strongly condemned the recent remarks made by the Tehsil Chairman of Rustam against the party’s senior leader Nawabzada Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti, calling the statements “regrettable and condemnable.” Addressing a press conference at the Mardan Press Club, PPP Tehsil Rustam President Haji Nawab Khan, along with leaders Jehanzeb Khan, Anwar Khan, Tahir Khan, and others, defended Khwaja Hoti, saying he is a respectable, fearless, and always truthful figure in politics. They said Khwaja Hoti had not made any personal remarks against the mayor but merely pointed out that no substantial work had been done for public welfare over the past four years.

They added that Khwaja Hoti’s political career is transparent, and he is known for speaking the truth—even if it is against his own party. Criticizing him reflects political immaturity and ignorance, they said. The PPP leaders criticized the Tehsil Chairman’s statement as unserious and indicative of a lack of understanding of basic political principles. They highlighted severe issues in Tehsil Rustam, including the absence of basic facilities in the local hospital where dead bodies often wait for hours for postmortem.

Despite these problems, the chairman has never paid attention to these matters, they said. The PPP representatives urged the chairman to present his developmental record before the public and offer explanations. They also noted that Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti served the public with integrity, even selling personal property to support his cause, and the people themselves vouch for his character. “Before criticizing others, those making baseless remarks should examine their own actions and consider whose agenda they are advancing,” they said.

They further alleged that in four years, the Tehsil Chairman has only managed to distribute garbage-disposal bags, rather than initiating real development. They urged him to focus on public service and take meaningful steps for community betterment instead of blaming others.
