The pavilion has been organized with the support of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the Pakistan Software Export Board, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency. The coordinated effort underscores the government’s commitment to promoting the country’s digital services and facilitating business linkages with Japan.

Focus on long-term partnerships

Speaking at the inauguration, Ambassador Abdul Hameed said Pakistan’s IT sector is steadily expanding, with companies gaining experience in serving international clients. He emphasized that participation in the exhibition is intended not only to enhance visibility but also to foster sustainable, long-term working relationships with Japanese partners.

The ambassador highlighted Japan’s vision of Society 5.0, which integrates advanced technologies to improve productivity and address challenges such as labour shortages and an ageing population. He noted that Pakistani firms can contribute to this vision by supporting system development, enhancing business processes, and improving operational efficiency for Japanese enterprises.

Building trust through step-by-step engagement

Emphasizing the importance of reliability and consistency in the Japanese market, the ambassador stated that collaboration should begin with small, clearly defined projects, enabling both sides to build confidence over time. He also pointed out that Pakistan and Japan share a longstanding foundation of trust, with Japanese companies operating successfully in Pakistan for decades.

Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in Tokyo continues to facilitate connections between businesses from both countries and supports follow-up engagements to ensure that discussions lead to tangible outcomes.

Expanding market access for Pakistani IT firms

Pakistan’s participation in Japan IT Week 2026 forms part of broader efforts to diversify export markets and promote sustainable growth in the technology sector. The pavilion offers Pakistani companies an opportunity to better understand Japanese market requirements, engage directly with potential partners, and establish enduring business relationships.

The initiative is expected to contribute to increased IT exports, deeper bilateral economic ties, and enhanced cooperation in emerging technologies between Pakistan and Japan.
