Pakistan Palestine Health MoU Signals Deeper Medical Cooperation

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan and the State of Palestine have signed a landmark health MoU to deepen bilateral cooperation in advanced medical fields and public health initiatives. The agreement reflects both nations’ commitment to strengthening their brotherly ties through collaborative healthcare efforts.

Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal signed the Pakistan Palestine health MoU on behalf of Pakistan, alongside Palestinian Ambassador Dr Zuhair Dar Zaid. The signing ceremony, held in Islamabad, was attended by senior officials including Secretary of Health Hamid Yaqoob and the Director General of Health Services.

Working Group to Oversee Pakistan Palestine Health MoU

As part of the agreement, a Pakistan-Palestine Health Working Group will be formed within 30 days. This body will guide implementation and ensure practical collaboration across key medical domains.

Minister Kamal emphasized that the MoU aims to improve the health and well-being of both populations. “This partnership will allow us to share expertise and build capacity in critical areas,” he said.

Medical Fields Targeted for Collaboration

The Pakistan Palestine health MoU outlines cooperation in interventional cardiology, organ transplantation, orthopaedic surgery, burn and plastic surgery, and endoscopic ultrasound. Additionally, both countries will pursue joint efforts in infectious diseases, ophthalmology, and pharmaceutical development.

Kamal also highlighted plans for collaborative research, which will further enhance medical innovation and knowledge exchange between the two nations.

Continued Support and Shared Commitment

Reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding support for Palestine, Kamal assured the ambassador of continued assistance in the health sector. “The hearts of the people of Pakistan beat with Palestine,” he said. “We stand ready to assist in every possible way.”

Ambassador Dar Zaid expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s unwavering support. “Palestine and Pakistan are brotherly countries,” he said. “Together, we will work to improve the health and well-being of our peoples.”

This MoU builds on Pakistan’s history of humanitarian aid to Gaza and vocal support for Palestine at international forums. It also aligns with Pakistan’s broader commitment to global health diplomacy.
