ISLAMABAD: During overseas deployment in the Arabian Gulf, Pakistan Navy ships Rasadgar and Azmat visited Port Al Shuwaikh in Kuwait while PMSS Dasht visited Port Umm Qasr in Iraq.
The PN fleet was led by Commander 14 Destroyer Squadron, Commodore Muhammad Umair, the Directorate General of Public Relations (Pak Navy) said in a press release.
On arrival at the host ports, the ships of the Pakistan Navy were warmly received by representatives of the Pakistani embassies and officials of the host navies.
The mission commander together with the commanding officers held meetings with the naval leadership of both countries.
During these interactions, matters of mutual interest, inter-navy relations and maritime security cooperation were discussed. The Commander of the Mission conveyed the best wishes of the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf to the people and navies of the host countries.
Following the port call, both PN and PMSA ships conducted transit exercises with Kuwaiti and Iraqi naval vessels. The objective of these exercises and maneuvers at sea was to improve interoperability between navies and promote shared learning through coordinated activities.
PN fleet visits to Kuwait and Iraq are expected to further strengthen existing diplomatic ties and cordial relations with these friendly nations.
