RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy ships HUNAIN and YARMOOK seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics, valued at approximately $750 million, during a joint counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to ISPR, the naval vessels were conducting a routine patrol when they intercepted a suspicious boat in the Arabian Sea.
A boarding operation was subsequently carried out, during which naval personnel discovered and recovered narcotics concealed in compartments of the boat.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt, commended the officers and crew of the two ships for their professionalism and vigilance during the operation.
He reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to maintaining maritime security and combating illicit trafficking at sea.
The operation highlights the Pakistan Navy’s role in counter-narcotics efforts and maritime security operations in the region.
