RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards, in coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of contraband in Balochistan’s Pishukan area, according to an official statement.
The joint intelligence-based operation was conducted after authorities received actionable intelligence about the suspected smuggling activity. A sizeable quantity of liquor and illegal medicines was seized during the operation.
Contraband Handed Over for Legal Action
The confiscated items have been handed over to the Pakistan Coast Guards for further legal proceedings, according to the statement.
The operation involved coordination among the Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Coast Guards and JMICC, with authorities describing the joint action as part of ongoing efforts to counter smuggling activities.
The operation also reflects the agencies’ efforts to prevent Pakistani waters and land from being used for illicit activities.
