GUANGZHOU, November 1, 2026: Pakistan is seeking to expand its exports and strengthen access to international markets through participation in the 140th Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China, where Pakistani companies have reported promising business leads from international buyers.

Pakistan’s Consul General in Guangzhou, Yasir Iqbal Butt, accompanied by Trade and Investment Counsellor Muhammad Imran, visited the Pakistan Pavilion during Phase III of the China Import and Export Fair at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangdong Province.

During the visit, the consul general met Pakistani exhibitors, reviewed their products and discussed business opportunities, export prospects and challenges faced by participating companies.

The exhibitors expressed satisfaction with the response from international buyers, saying they had received encouraging business inquiries and potential export opportunities.

Butt assured the participating businesses of the Government of Pakistan’s continued support in facilitating their presence at international trade exhibitions and helping them access new markets.

He said the Canton Fair provided Pakistani exporters with an important platform to connect with international buyers, establish business relationships and explore opportunities for expanding their global presence.

The consul general noted that participation by leading Pakistani enterprises reflected growing confidence in the exhibition as a platform for international trade and business development.

He expressed hope that sustained participation in major international exhibitions would help diversify Pakistan’s export products, strengthen its competitiveness and contribute to export growth.

According to the official statement, 38 Pakistani companies are participating in the 140th Canton Fair, including 18 enterprises sponsored by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The participating companies are showcasing products from several sectors, including kitchenware, home textiles, sports goods, sportswear, skincare and healthcare products, and stationery.

Their participation is aimed at attracting international buyers, securing export orders and expanding Pakistan’s commercial relationships with businesses from different countries.

The Canton Fair is one of the world’s major international trade exhibitions, bringing together manufacturers, exporters, importers and buyers from global markets.

The 140th edition also coincides with the fair’s 70th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Pakistan’s participation highlights the longstanding economic partnership between the two countries and their continued emphasis on strengthening bilateral trade, investment and business-to-business cooperation.

The government hopes that greater engagement with international buyers through exhibitions such as the Canton Fair will support Pakistani exporters in identifying new markets and increasing the country’s export potential.
