Islamabad: Pakistan’s armed forces have destroyed heavy artillery positions and multiple Afghan Taliban check posts across border regions inside Afghanistan as part of ongoing retaliatory action under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, security sources said late Thursday.
In the latest update issued at 2127 hours, security sources stated that robust countermeasures are underway in response to what officials described as unprovoked aggression along the Pak-Afghan border. The operation remains active and will continue until its objectives are achieved.
According to security sources, recent strikes targeted military infrastructure, including heavy weapon systems and fortified check posts allegedly involved in cross-border hostilities.
Earlier, Pakistani forces had completely destroyed an Afghan check post near the Mohmand sector following reported firing incidents from across the frontier.
Operation Background
The military spokesperson said Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq was launched in response to what he described as unprovoked cross-border attacks.
According to the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), at least 274 Afghan Taliban personnel have been killed and more than 400 injured since the start of the operation as engagements expanded across multiple border sectors.
