GADANI, September 30, 2026: Pakistan Customs Enforcement has seized smuggled goods worth more than Rs154 million, including the value of seized vehicles, in a series of intelligence-based operations across Balochistan.
According to the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Gadani, the operations were conducted in different areas of Makran Division, Lasbela and Hub in coordination with other law-enforcement agencies.
In a joint operation with the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Field Enforcement Unit Khurkhera intercepted two passenger buses in the Lasbela area. A search of the buses led to the recovery of foreign-origin betel nuts, cosmetics, cigarettes, Indian gutka and parachute cloth.
Customs officials said the smuggled goods had been concealed in specially constructed hidden compartments inside the buses. The combined value of the seized goods and carriers was estimated at more than Rs130 million.
In another operation, the Mobile Enforcement Unit Hub raided a godown in the Hub area and recovered plastic shopper bags and skimmed milk powder worth approximately Rs20 million. The seized goods were transported to the State Warehouse in Gadani in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
Separately, the Field Enforcement Unit Gwadar intercepted 750 kilograms of smuggled Iranian edible oil during checking on the Coastal Highway. The oil was packed in 150 tins, each containing five kilograms, with an estimated value of Rs4 million.
Pakistan Customs said it would continue intelligence-based and coordinated anti-smuggling operations in the region to prevent the illegal movement of goods and safeguard legitimate trade and the national economy.
