Pakistan Customs Foils Rs42 Million Marijuana Smuggling Attempt at Karachi Airport

Karachi — Pakistan Customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle marijuana worth Rs42 million through Karachi Airport, intercepting a parcel that had arrived from the United States.

According to officials, the Collectorate of Customs (Airports), Air Cargo Control Unit (ACCU) flagged the consignment during routine scrutiny at the Immediate Clearance Group (ICG). The parcel had been falsely declared as containing “documents.” Upon examination, it was found to conceal approximately 2.26 kilograms of marijuana, packed inside a box to evade detection.

Authorities said the timely action prevented the narcotics from entering the domestic market. Legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant provisions of the law.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reiterated its commitment to curb smuggling through international mail and cargo channels, emphasizing its resolve to safeguard society and uphold the rule of law.
