The Pakistan Champions’ participation in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) Season 3 has come under uncertainty after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly did not issue No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the participating players.
According to reports, Pakistan Champions were scheduled to face Bangladesh Champions in Sharjah on October 3, but the fixture was subsequently postponed. The development has raised questions over whether the Pakistan side will be able to take part in the tournament.
The WCL’s official website, however, continues to list Pakistan Champions among the participating teams and shows fixtures against Bangladesh, Australia, West Indies, India, South Africa and England.
Reports said captain Shahid Afridi and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed did not travel to Dubai, while several other players had already reached the UAE.
According to sources cited in the report, the team owners also proposed changing the team’s name to facilitate participation, but the proposal was reportedly not accepted.
The dispute follows the controversy surrounding the previous edition of the WCL, when India Champions declined to play against Pakistan Champions in scheduled matches. The 2025 tournament saw matches between the two sides called off without a ball being bowled.
The WCL had scheduled Pakistan Champions to face India Champions in Dubai on October 10. The official tournament website still lists that fixture as part of the Season 3 schedule.
Pakistan Champions owner Kamil Khan, according to the report, said the team remained hopeful that the PCB could reconsider its position. He said the players had submitted their NOC applications through the prescribed procedure and that the franchise was waiting for a positive decision.
The conflicting information is reflected in currently available tournament listings: while reports indicate that Pakistan’s participation has been affected by the NOC issue, the WCL’s official schedule continues to list the Pakistan Champions fixtures.
