Dhaka: Pakistan were bowled out for 114 in the opening One Day International at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium as hosts Bangladesh national cricket team chased the target comfortably to win by 8 wickets, taking a 1–0 lead in the three-match series.

Asked to bat first, the Pakistan national cricket team collapsed against a disciplined Bangladesh attack, losing regular wickets and failing to build meaningful partnerships. Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana starred with a five-wicket haul that ripped through the Pakistan lineup and set the tone for the match.

In reply, Bangladesh paced the chase with a brisk start. Top-order batter Tanzid Hasan Tamim played a decisive innings, putting the hosts firmly on course; Bangladesh reached 115/2 in just 15.1 overs to seal a routine victory.

The result exposes Pakistan’s top-order fragility early in the series and gives Bangladesh early momentum at home. The second ODI is scheduled later in the week, when Pakistan will look to regroup and shore up its batting against Bangladesh’s potent pace attack.
