DUBAI, Jan 20, 2026: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Shafqat Ali Khan, met a delegation of the Pakistan Business Council Dubai (PBC) at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai, officials said on Monday.
The delegation was led by Muhammad Shabbir Merchant, Chairman of the Pakistan Business Council Dubai, and included members of the management committee. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor, along with senior officials of the Consulate, were also present during the meeting.

During the interaction, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan appreciated the Pakistan Business Council’s continued efforts in promoting trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE. He reaffirmed the Embassy’s and Consulate’s full support for PBC initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral trade ties and facilitating the Pakistani business community in the UAE.
Highlighting the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE, the ambassador said that trade and investment play a central role in further consolidating the partnership between the two countries. He encouraged the Pakistan Business Council to continue guiding new Pakistani entrepreneurs by raising awareness about the UAE’s regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, and evolving market dynamics.
Mr. Muhammad Shabbir Merchant briefed the ambassador on various initiatives undertaken by the Pakistan Business Council Dubai for the welfare of the Pakistani business community. These include advocacy efforts, networking platforms, and capacity-building programmes designed to strengthen the presence and competitiveness of Pakistani businesses in the UAE market.
Officials said the meeting reflected a shared commitment to enhancing Pakistan–UAE economic engagement and supporting Pakistani investors and entrepreneurs operating in the region.
