Said while addressing a seminar on peace and harmony organized by the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan
A seminar on “Peace and Harmony” was organized by the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan, bringing together eminent personalities and community leaders to promote unity, coexistence, and harmony in Pakistan.
Addressing the seminar as a Chief Guest, Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs, Government of Punjab, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace and its true image as a peace-loving nation. “It is our responsibility to highlight Pakistan’s true identity to the world,” he stated.
Sharing his observations about Sikh pilgrims who visited Pakistan recently, he said, “When these Sikh pilgrims were leaving Pakistan during their recent visit to Pakistan, they chanted slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and expressed gratitude for the warmth and hospitality they received from the people of Pakistan. This is the real beauty of Pakistan, where people of every religion have equal rights that are fully protected.” He further highlighted that the rights of minorities in Pakistan are at par with those in any other nation.
On the occasion Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora commended the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan for its efforts to promote peace and unity and underscored the importance of inclusive development. “To build a harmonious and prosperous nation, we must include everyone in our journey of progress,” he added.
Past District Governor Masroor J. Sheikh also addressed the audience, lauding the Rotary Club’s role in fostering societal harmony. He added that seminars like this are vital for promoting peace and understanding within the community.
Earlier, President of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan, Shabbir Malik, welcomed the attendees and shared insights regarding Club’s initiatives. He emphasized that peace promotion is one of Rotary International’s seven focus areas and called for collective efforts to advance peace in Pakistan and the whole world.
Secretary of the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan, Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed also spoke at the event, reinforcing the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence for national development.
