Pak-UK Trade Forum Leader Welcomes U.S.-Iran Understanding, Credits Pakistan’s Diplomacy

Senior Vice President of the Pak-UK Trade Forum, Khurshid Ahmed Hashmi, has welcomed the recent understanding between the United States and Iran, describing it as an encouraging development for regional peace and global stability.

In a statement issued from Islamabad, Hashmi said the U.S.-Iran understanding reflected the importance of dialogue, diplomatic engagement and confidence-building measures in addressing complex international disputes.

Hashmi said the development could help reduce tensions in the region and create space for improved economic cooperation and stronger bilateral relations among key stakeholders.

He said Pakistan had played what he called a responsible and constructive role in supporting an environment conducive to reconciliation. He added that the country’s diplomatic approach should be viewed as a positive contribution to regional stability.

Hashmi congratulated President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Pakistan’s diplomatic leadership over what he described as an important diplomatic achievement.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s engagement with global leaders had helped present Pakistan’s position effectively at the international level.

Hashmi also praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s role in promoting national security, regional harmony and stability, saying his approach had strengthened Pakistan’s standing.

He also appreciated Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Pakistan’s diplomatic team for their continued engagement and strategic handling of the matter.

Hashmi said choosing diplomacy over confrontation was a welcome approach in resolving international disputes. He added that sustained diplomatic efforts could help bring major crises to the negotiating table.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, moderation, mutual respect and constructive engagement, saying the country should continue to play a positive role in regional and global stability.
