PAF Pays Tribute to Rashid Minhas Shaheed on Air Force Day

KARACHI, September 7, 2026: The Pakistan Air Force on Monday paid tribute to Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, with a wreath-laying ceremony at his grave in Karachi to mark Air Force Day.

A PAF contingent led by Air Vice Marshal Akhtar Imran Saddozai, Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command, offered Fateha and laid a floral wreath on behalf of Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

The ceremony commemorated the sacrifice of Rashid Minhas Shaheed, who remains one of the most celebrated figures in Pakistan Air Force history.

PAF personnel saluted his courage, commitment to duty and sacrifice, describing his legacy as a continuing source of inspiration for successive generations of airmen.

The Pakistan Air Force said the occasion also reflected its commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while maintaining operational readiness to respond to emerging security challenges.

The ceremony further honoured the sacrifices of PAF martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Rashid Minhas was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military award for valour, and remains closely associated with the PAF’s traditions of duty, honour and sacrifice.
