RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have concluded Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 in Balochistan, killing 216 militants during intelligence-based operations while 22 security personnel were martyred, according to the military’s media wing.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation involved a series of coordinated and intelligence-driven actions against militant elements operating in different parts of the province.

ISPR said the operation was launched on January 29, 2026, in Panjgur and the outskirts of Harnai District after verified intelligence indicated the presence of militants posing an imminent threat to civilians. During the initial phase, security forces targeted identified hideouts, resulting in the killing of 41 militants, the statement said.

The military said subsequent attacks by militant groups were repelled, followed by an expanded series of intelligence-based operations across multiple areas. These included sustained combing and sanitisation efforts aimed at dismantling sleeper cells and disrupting militant networks.

According to ISPR, the operation was carried out through joint efforts by the Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies and intelligence services. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition, explosives and equipment of foreign origin was recovered, with preliminary assessments pointing to external logistical support for the militants.

The statement said 36 civilians, including women and children, were also killed during the course of the operation. ISPR said the sacrifices of both civilians and security personnel were being honoured and reaffirmed that counterterrorism operations would continue under the National Action Plan until militant threats are eliminated.
