ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan’s security forces are continuing Operation Ghazab lil Haq against militant groups, reporting significant operational gains during the ongoing campaign.
In a statement, Tarar said security operations have resulted in the deaths of 641 militants linked to the Afghan Taliban, while more than 855 others were injured during engagements with Pakistani forces.
The minister said the campaign has also targeted militant infrastructure and logistical positions. According to the figures provided, 243 checkpoints associated with militant groups were destroyed, while 42 additional checkpoints were captured and dismantled during the operation.
Tarar added that security forces also destroyed 219 tanks and armed vehicles used by militants in the region.
Aerial operations target multiple locations
The information minister said Pakistani forces carried out aerial strikes on militant hideouts and targets at 65 locations inside Afghanistan as part of the broader counter-terrorism campaign.
He said the operations were aimed at dismantling militant networks that threaten Pakistan’s security and stability.
According to Tarar, the government and armed forces remain committed to continuing the campaign until militant groups are fully neutralized.
The minister reiterated that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism operations will proceed until what he described as their “logical conclusion,” emphasizing the government’s determination to eliminate militancy.
