Olympic Day Marked Worldwide as Pakistan Hosts Lahore Event Promoting Sports Values

Olympic Day was observed around the world on June 23, with Pakistan joining global celebrations through an event organized by the Pakistan Olympic Association in Lahore. The occasion brought together athletes, students, and sports officials to highlight the role of sport in promoting unity, health, and education.

The Olympic Day 2026 celebrations in Pakistan included activities such as Olympic walks, quizzes, and sports competitions. The event aimed to raise awareness about the values of the modern Olympic movement, including inclusion, discipline, and healthy living, while encouraging youth participation in sports.

In Lahore, the event was attended by a large number of national athletes and federation representatives, including Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem and Olympian Faika Riaz. Participants also included students from different institutions and members of various sports federations.

Pakistan Olympic Association President Arif Saeed said the Olympic movement promotes values beyond competition, emphasizing friendship, respect, and an active lifestyle. He highlighted the importance of Olympic values education in shaping healthier and more engaged youth.

Arshad Nadeem expressed satisfaction at attending the event and encouraged young athletes to focus on training for upcoming international competitions, including the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World Championships.
