A notorious drug dealer and proclaimed offender was killed in an exchange of fire with police in the Matta area of Swat. Police confriemd.
According to police spokesperson Moeen Khan, the deceased was identified as Mehboob, son of Sarzameen resident of Koza Durshkhela.
The spokesperson stated that Mehboob was wanted in 16 different criminal cases, including charges of terrorism, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and other serious offenses.
“He was also declared a proclaimed offender in case number 7ATA-324 registered at Matta Police Station,” the spokesperson added.
Police spokesperson said that a team from Matta Police launched a raid following intelligence about the suspect’s whereabouts. During the operation, the accused opened an indiscriminate fire on the police party, added that in retaliatory firing, he was killed on the spot,” he said. police spokesperson further said, the action was taken under the right of self-defense, and the police team returned safely.
The body was shifted to Tehsil headquarters Hospital, Matta for legal formalities, while further investigation is underway.
