November 2, 2026: Nokia has introduced a classic-style flip phone in the Philippines, targeting senior citizens and schoolchildren who prefer simple communication devices over modern smartphones.
The Nokia 2360 Flip, launched by mobile phone manufacturer HMD, combines a traditional clamshell design with practical features aimed at making everyday communication easier and safer for users.
The phone features a 2.8-inch internal display and a 1.77-inch external screen, allowing users to check essential information without opening the device.
It comes with a removable 1,450mAh battery, a QVGA camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio and a loudspeaker. The device also offers 4MB of internal storage.
One of the phone’s main attractions is its Family Assist feature, which enables designated family members to remotely manage contacts, adjust volume settings and set daily reminders.
The feature is particularly useful for elderly users who may need assistance managing their phones and for schoolchildren whose parents want to oversee basic communication settings.
The Nokia 2360 Flip also includes a dedicated SOS button designed to provide quick access to emergency assistance.
When pressed, the button automatically calls a designated primary emergency contact and can send emergency alerts to five previously saved numbers.
Unlike modern smartphones, the device supports only 2G networks and does not offer 4G or 5G connectivity.
The limited connectivity reflects its focus on essential communication rather than internet-based applications and advanced smartphone features.
With its physical keypad, traditional flip design and family assistance functions, the Nokia 2360 Flip offers an alternative for users who value simplicity, accessibility and basic safety features.
