Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has said that there would be no problem in playing in Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 if the BCCI decides to send them. There have been rumors circulating about India’s potential withdrawal from the Champions Trophy 2025, but no official announcement has been made by the BCCI so far.
A few days ago, Indian media claimed that the team would not travel to Pakistan for the ICC event and that the tournament might be held under a hybrid model. Yesterday, renowned cricket website Cricinfo reported that the Indian board had informed the ICC about the situation. The BCCI mentioned to the ICC that they had not yet received government approval to visit Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi remains confident that the Champions Trophy 2025 will be hosted in Pakistan and clarified that there have been no discussions about a hybrid model.
Now, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has given an important statement regarding the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. He said that if the Indian board grants permission to travel to Pakistan, there would be no issue playing there. Speaking to Indian media, Rohit Sharma said that the decision lies with both boards and is not in their hands. He added that they always look forward to tournaments and play wherever the board sends them.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan will be hosting an ICC event for the first time in many years, with the Champions Trophy scheduled for February and March next year.
