LAHORE, September 24 — A delegation of senior government officers from the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) Lahore visited Devsinc’s Global Delivery Centre in Lahore to gain first-hand insight into Pakistan’s IT industry, its growth potential and the challenges facing technology companies.
The visit was organised as part of NIPA’s 47th Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) under the training theme “IT Industry in Pakistan: Current Status, Potential, Challenges and Future Prospects.”
The delegation comprised 31 BS-18 officers representing federal and provincial government departments and public-sector organisations, along with four NIPA faculty members.
The Mid-Career Management Course is a mandatory training requirement for participating officers seeking promotion to BS-19.
During the visit, Devsinc briefed the delegation on Pakistan’s technology sector, including the operational environment for software and IT services companies, opportunities for future growth and key challenges confronting the industry.
The engagement was aimed at giving government officers a ground-level understanding of the technology sector as they prepare to take on more senior roles in public administration and potentially contribute to policymaking affecting Pakistan’s IT industry.
Government Officers Get First-Hand Look at IT Sector
Devsinc, led by CEO Usman Asif, shared insights into the practical realities of operating and expanding an IT services business in Pakistan.
The session also provided an opportunity for interaction between public-sector officials and technology industry representatives, with discussions focused on improving understanding between policymakers and businesses operating in Pakistan’s growing digital economy.
According to the company, the engagement was intended to help participating officers better understand the requirements, opportunities and constraints facing technology businesses as Pakistan seeks to strengthen its IT sector.
