A 17-day-old newborn was allegedly abducted from the nursery of the Women and Children Hospital in Abbottabad, prompting a police investigation and raising concerns over security arrangements at the medical facility.

According to hospital officials, the infant—son of Siraj, a resident of Secunderabad—was taken from the intensive care nursery in a daytime incident. The case has drawn attention after CCTV footage surfaced showing a masked woman entering the nursery and leaving the premises with the baby.

Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Aamir Israr confirmed the incident and said the administration is treating the matter with urgency. He added that CCTV recordings from the hospital are being reviewed in detail to trace the child’s whereabouts.

Police have been informed and are working alongside hospital authorities to investigate the incident and recover the newborn safely. Officials said all available resources are being used to follow leads and verify footage.

The incident has raised broader concerns about monitoring and security protocols in neonatal and intensive care units, where vulnerable infants require strict access control.
