KARACHI: Work has begun on establishing another vaccination centre in Karachi, with a new facility being developed at Jacob Lines near Saddar to expand vaccination services for residents and Umrah pilgrims.
According to focal person Ghulam Murtaza Shah, the existing Karachi Airport Dispensary Vaccination Centre is also being expanded. The airport facility will have 10 counters each for men and women, while four National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) facilitation centres will also be established there.
Jacob Lines centre to have 40 counters
The Jacob Lines dispensary near Saddar has been upgraded to hospital status, while a new vaccination centre is being established at the facility.
The centre will have 40 vaccination counters, with 20 counters designated separately for men and 20 for women. NADRA facilitation services will also be available at the site.
Shah said the Jacob Lines vaccination centre is expected to become operational within two weeks.
Umrah pilgrims given more time to travel without vaccination
According to the official, Umrah pilgrims who have not yet received the required vaccination will be able to travel until September 25.
The expansion of vaccination facilities is aimed at increasing access to services and easing the process for people requiring vaccination and related documentation before international travel.
