ISLAMABAD: Neha Karim Ullah has been named Spotify’s EQUAL Pakistan Ambassador for the first quarter of 2026, marking a major milestone for the rising dance-pop artist as her work gains growing international recognition.
As part of the announcement by Spotify, Neha was featured on Spotify’s digital billboard at New York’s Times Square on January 22 and included across several curated playlists on the platform. The EQUAL programme aims to amplify women artists and promote gender equity in music by providing global visibility and editorial support.
Neha Karim Ullah is known for blending electronic dance production with emotionally driven songwriting, a combination that has helped her build a distinctive presence within Pakistan’s contemporary music scene. Her track “Aao Toh Zara” has drawn attention for its modern sound and narrative approach, contributing to a steadily expanding audience.
Spotify listener data shows that her music is streamed not only in Pakistan but also across markets including the United States, the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. The platform reports that millennials and Gen Z listeners account for approximately 85 percent of her audience, reflecting her resonance with younger demographics.
Her catalogue spans a range of styles within the dance-pop genre. Tracks such as “Modern Day Witch Trial (MDWT)” and “Deewanay” highlight high-energy, rhythm-led production, while releases like “Na Karoon” showcase a more introspective musical approach. Together, her body of work reflects a balance between mainstream appeal and personal storytelling.
Speaking on her selection, Neha Karim Ullah said the EQUAL Pakistan initiative plays an important role in increasing visibility for women artists and encouraging greater representation within the industry.
Spotify Pakistan and UAE Artist and Label Partnerships Manager Rutaba Yaqub said Neha represents a fresh and authentic voice in Pakistan’s evolving music landscape, adding that the EQUAL programme is designed to support women artists at different stages of their careers as they reach wider audiences.
Through initiatives such as EQUAL Pakistan, Spotify continues to highlight women artists from the country on global platforms, with Neha Karim Ullah’s selection reinforcing the programme’s focus on elevating emerging Pakistani talent.
